Inspired by vintage clothing and rooted in workwear, military garments, and jeans, FOB FACTORY is based in Kojima, Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, one of Japan's leading production centers. Every stage of production is carried out in Japan, with the aim of creating garments that owners will still be glad they purchased three years later.







Recreating 1960s military fabric from the yarn up
The fabric is made from VAT DYE back satin, developed through close study of the satin fabrics used by the U.S. military in the 1960s, recreating everything from the shape of the yarn to the dyeing method.

Back satin is a fabric that uses the reverse side of a satin weave as its face. Unlike conventional satin, its sheen is subdued, giving it the rugged, understated character typical of military garments.





The fabric is dyed using a method known as VAT DYE. Rather than coloring the fabric uniformly all the way through, the shade gradually changes with repeated wear and washing, allowing the texture and character to deepen over time.

The result captures the dry hand and nuanced depth of color found in the original fabric, reinterpreted as a contemporary shirt made in Japan.





The functional beauty of a military shirt, stripped to its essentials
The design is based on the OG-107 satin shirt once adopted as utility wear by the U.S. military.

By keeping the design simple and free of patches or unit insignia, it retains its military character while remaining easy to incorporate into everyday styling.





Practical military-inspired details are arranged across the chest. A hook-and-loop fastener made with mohair adds a subtle accent to the otherwise rugged design.

Rather than relying on added decoration, the shirt expresses its character through fabric, construction, and details rooted in military wear. A piece that reflects FOB FACTORY's careful approach to craftsmanship.









A clean, straight box silhouette
While preserving the character of military shirts from the period, the silhouette has been updated into a modern boxy shape with comfortable room through the body.

The straight line from the body to the hem avoids clinging to the figure, creating a balanced look whether worn on its own or as a light outer layer.

Paired with slim trousers, the shirt becomes the focal point of the outfit; with wide trousers or military pants, the proportions blend naturally. An ideal balance for those who appreciate a vintage mood without wanting their styling to feel dated.
